How to Make Smoothies

Have you made smoothies before?

If not, no worries, it’s not difficult at all! Instead of having to go out to buy all the smoothies you want to drink, you can go ahead and make them yourself quite easily. All you need are a few tools and ingredients.

First, what tools are needed to make a smoothie?

One of the items that make smoothie making extremely easy is a blender.

Do you have a blender?

Are you familiar with what they are?

Blenders are similar to a juicer machine, except they tend to not strain out ingredients as much as juicers do.  Basically, they do exactly what the name says. Blenders are pitcher-like machines with a blade inside. When you add ingredients to it and turn the machine on, it blends everything together. It can give you silky smooth smoothies in hardly any time at all!

Another type of blender is called an immersion blender. This type is like a stick with a blade at the end of it. It’s great for blending large amounts of ingredients because you can use it to blend things that wouldn’t fit in a regular blender. You can even use it to blend soups or salsas!

What do you do, though, if you don’t have a blender and can’t buy one at the moment, but still want to make smoothies? Don’t worry! You can still make a smoothie without a blender, although it might not be quite as smooth without a blender. One way to do it is to mash and quickly stir the fruit or other ingredients with a fork or other similar object. If you use soft berries and other fruits such as bananas, you should be able to get it into a fairly well-blended consistency. If it’s too lumpy, you could try pressing it through a sieve. It may take a bit more work, but in the end, you’ll have a smoothie!

Once you have your equipment figured out, you’ll need to decide on what ingredients to put into your smoothie. This part can be so much fun! You can make smoothies with fruits you already know you like, or even with fruits you’ve never tried before. Be creative! If you aren’t sure what ingredients you should try first, this is where this article can be quite useful. The above sections list some of the best ingredients and combinations. It also detailed what some of those ingredients are good for.

Do you want to drink a smoothie in order to help a certain health issue? If so, look down the list of ingredients under that issue and make a smoothie from a few of those. If you just want to drink a smoothie for the enjoyment of it and to be healthy in general, check the list of most popular ingredients and try pairing a few of them together. If you enjoy drinking juice, think of your favorite juicing recipes. Try using those recipes to make smoothies rather than juice! Before you know it, you’ll have some new favorite smoothie recipes picked out!

Once you have your ingredients picked out, rinse them. If they are a type of fruit with a peel, such as a banana, peel the fruit. Once the fruit is peeled if necessary and rinsed, cut it into smaller pieces then throw it all into the blender if you have one. Turn the machine on and blend until it reaches the desired consistency. You may need to turn the machine off and stir it every now and then so ingredients don’t get stuck in any of the corners.

If you don’t have a typical blender, put the ingredients in a bowl and either blend them with an immersion blender or go ahead and blend them yourself with a fork or other utensil. Then, pour the smoothie into a cup and enjoy it!

See? That wasn’t so hard, was it? Go out and buy some ingredients! Your next delicious smoothie is waiting for you.
